Material & Craftmanship
Sourced from natural rock, our glazes rely on the unstable beauty of iron and copper elements. In the kiln, varied temperatures and humidity levels create distinct textures on every piece. And yes, no two patterns are ever identical. From Raw Mineral mining to the final 8-hour firing, each vessel passes through a 72-step cycle of manual refinement, resulting in a stable, high-kaolin body that resists corrosion and stands the test of time.

Care
Vessels from Saragaia are highly dense and durable for daily life. While dishwasher and microwave safe, we recommend a gentle hand wash to preserve the glaze’s natural luster. Over time, the microporous structure may absorb tea or coffee oils, developing a unique, warm patina. This is a celebrated feature of Raw Mineral glazes, recording the history of your rituals. To maintain this “living” quality, avoid harsh bleaches or abrasive steel wool.

Quality
From each kiln firing, only the pieces that meet our rigorous standards are chosen for our customer.
During the Yongzheng period, tea dust glaze ceramics became a deliberate artistic pursuit, prized for its elusive hue—neither purely green nor yellow, but with subtle color variations. Named for its striking resemblance to tea dust, it embodied this unique aesthetic.
Ceramics with tea dust glaze, beloved and sought after for their unique coloration, are housed in varying forms in institutions such as the British Museum and the Art Institute of Chicago. Pictures here are a vase from the Metropolitan Museum's collection.

Recommended Washing Methods
While our handmade dinnerware is dishwasher and microwave safe, we recommend hand washing for optimal care. The internal temperature of microwaves and ovens can vary, which may cause damage to the ceramics over time. To hand wash, use a soft scrub brush and dish soap, avoiding metal or abrasive sponges. For dishwasher use, we recommend using eco-friendly detergents to help preserve the longevity of the ceramics.
