Sea Sparkle is an exceptionally precious ceramic glaze with deep historical allure. Originating during the Xuande period of the Ming dynasty, it is created by “pipe-blowing” mineral pigments onto a white porcelain body, followed by a coating of clear glaze and high-temperature firing.

The result is a surface adorned with delicate, snow-like blue speckles. Its core colorant, Sumali cobalt, was sourced from Persia and was historically regarded as a highly valuable royal material. Many surviving examples are court-grade wares—brush pots, dishes, vases—commissioned for the imperial palaces of the Ming and Qing dynasties, and they remain prominent treasures in museum collections today.

Lead-Free and Food-Safe

The glazes used in our ceramics are lead-free and food-safe. You can use our products with confidence, knowing that they meet the highest safety standards.

Recommended Washing Methods

While our handmade dinnerware is dishwasher and microwave safe, we recommend hand washing for optimal care. The internal temperature of microwaves and ovens can vary, which may cause damage to the ceramics over time. To hand wash, use a soft scrub brush and dish soap, avoiding metal or abrasive sponges. For dishwasher use, we recommend using eco-friendly detergents to help preserve the longevity of the ceramics.
