During the Yongzheng period, tea dust glaze ceramics became a deliberate artistic pursuit, prized for its elusive hue—neither purely green nor yellow, but with subtle color variations. Named for its striking resemblance to tea dust, it embodied this unique aesthetic.
Ceramics with tea dust glaze, beloved and sought after for their unique coloration, are housed in varying forms in institutions such as the British Museum and the Art Institute of Chicago. Pictures here are a vase from the Metropolitan Museum's collection.

Recommended Washing Methods
