Mineral, Clay, Flame

At SaraGaia, we see ourselves as humble apprentices to nature, selecting stones that have slept in the earth’s crust for millions of years and allowing them to speak through fire. What you hold is a dialogue between earth and flame — geological time, solidified. Ocher, rich in iron oxide, transforms under reduction into the crystallized olive depth of our Tea Dust glaze. Malachite, a copper-bearing mineral, emerges from the kiln as the tender blush of Peach Bloom or the intensity of Pomegranate Red. Sumali, the historic cobalt pigment, gives rise to Sea Sparkle — a shifting, star-like blue shaped by mineral composition and flame. Each glaze is not applied, but revealed — a record of mineral, heat, and time.

Modern Courtyard Rooted in Porcelain Heritage

Crafted in the “Porcelain Capital,” utilizing the same high-quality Kaolin deposits that have defined ceramics for over a millennium. A modern form born from ancient geological strata.

Craft Process Highlights

The Awakening of Clay

Guided by a reverent touch, raw clay is meticulously shaped and trimmed on the wheel to awaken the vessel's soul.

The Human Connection

Sculpted for perfect ergonomics, each handle is seamlessly attached as a natural extension of the vessel's body.

The Bisque Ritual

A gentle, low-temperature firing extracts moisture, leaving the body perfectly primed to drink the raw glaze.

The Alchemy of Glaze

Crushed raw minerals are patiently layered onto the earthen body, building profound tonal richness and visual depth.

The Mineral Metamorphosis

Fired at an extreme 1300°C, minerals fuse in a moment of geological acceleration, mirroring the earth's depths.

The Golden Seal

An artisan's hand-written 24k Gold signature is permanently fired into the base, witnessing the journey from stone to art.

The Nature of Handmade

Due to the raw nature of our mineral glazes and the hand-thrown process, slight variations in glaze thickness, texture, and color are to be expected. These are not imperfections, but the signature of the artisan and the fire, ensuring that the piece you hold is singularly yours.
